As of 2026, Vietnam has not implemented a full visa-free policy for HKSAR passport holders. Whether for tourism, visiting relatives, or business, you must hold a valid visa before departure.
Phu Quoc is currently the only region in Vietnam that offers visa-free entry for Hong Kong passport holders, with a maximum stay of 30 days. You must meet all the following conditions:
Passport validity of at least 6 months.
Hold a return ticket or a ticket to a third destination.
Fly directly to Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC). If you transit or enter via Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, or other cities, you are not eligible for visa-free entry and must apply for a visa.
The itinerary is limited to Phu Quoc Island.
If your trip is just a “Staycation” in Phu Quoc, you can travel with just your flight ticket. However, for cities like Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, or Hanoi, you must apply for a visa.
