From February 1, 2019, the Vietnamese government announced a new list of 35 pilot countries whose citizens can apply for e-visa in Vietnam. The 35 countries on the list include citizens of Hong Kong and Macao. From then on, Hong Kong and Macao citizens who want to travel in Vietnam can get E-visas before their trip.
The Vietnamese government has issued Decree No. 17/2019/nd-cp, which is valid for two years and will come into force on February 1, 2019. The second decree announced a new list of e-visas that citizens of 35 pilot countries can apply for in Vietnam.
According to the new law, Hong Kong and Macao citizens can apply for Vietnam e-visas online from now on. Then, Chinese passport numbers starting with “G, K, Ma” can apply for Vietnam E-visas.
Please noted: Chinese passport number beginning with “E, H” and Taiwan passport can’t apply for Vietnam E-visa just can apply for the visa on arrival (landing visa).
Steps to apply for Vietnam e-visa:
(1) Fill in all necessary personal information on this website: https://www.yuenanyuenan.com/en/apply/ and pay (40 USD / person: service fee + visa fee);
(2) Wait for two working days to receive the e-visa (if you haven’t received the visa after two working days, please check the spam mailbox).
(3) Print out the e-visa and use it when entering Vietnam Immigration.
(4) E-visa is a single entry, valid for 30 days;
(5) Ensure that passports are valid for at least 3-6 months.
